ROLAND TR-808 ANALOG DRUM MACHINE 20-6-1994
---------------------------------

This disk contains 21 samples

The TR-808 has the following (16) sounds:

- bass drum             - claves
- snare drum            - maracas
- rim shot - high tom
- cowbell               - low tom
- handclap              - mid tom
- open hi-hat           - high conga
- closed hi-hat         - mid conga
- cymbal                - low conga

most of these sounds can be adjusted, more or less;

- bass drum: "tone" lets it have a 'click' at the attack or just a muted sort
of attack
  "decay" gives you a short bass drum or that long "hmmm" 'Hip Hop' type bass
drum.

- snare drum: "tone" adjusts the tone of the drum, from a low pitched (big)
drum to a high pitched (thin, "military" snare)
  "snappy" adjusts the 'hardness' of the drum, from a very mute 'click' to a
very hard snare sound.

- cymbal: "tone" adjusts the sound from a 'dark' cymbal sound, to a 'thin',
bright cymbal.
  "decay" adjusts the duration of the cymbal.

- open hi-hat: "decay" adjusts the duration of the open hi-hat.

- all congas/toms: "tuning" tunes the sounds up or down.

Claves, rimshot, cowbell and closed hi-hat have no adjustments except "level",
which all sounds have.
There are individual outputs for all sounds except the following, which is
shared;
low conga/low tom, mid conga/mid tom, hi conga/hi tom, claves/rim shot,
maracas/hand clap.
There is a switch between each of these, so only one of the two can be played
at the same time (one switch for each pair of sounds).

The disk contains samples of many different settings of the sounds, so most
possibilities should be covered.
